在液壓系統的設計及計算中包含液壓系統的主要技術參數的確定，液壓元件的設計選取及主要參數的確定，實際工作中的各個階段的壓力值，各個工作循環過程中所需的流量的確定，油泵的計算及選取，各個工作階段所消耗的最大功率等內容。其中液壓元件的設計選取及主要參數的確定中包括了柱塞的設計，主工作缸的設計，輔助工作缸的選取及參數的確定。
在標準液壓元件的計算及選取中包括電機的選取，油管內徑的確定，液壓元件的選取和技術參數的校正等內容。
