開煉機主要用于：生膠的塑煉；膠料的混煉；混煉膠的熱煉、供膠；膠料的壓片；膠料中雜質的清除；生膠的破碎、洗滌；再生膠粉碎、混煉。壓片；生橡膠的壓片等。
在設計輥筒時，選擇輥筒的形式極為重要，因為輥筒時開煉機最為重要的零件之一，因為開煉機的結構形式關系到開煉機的冷卻方式及冷卻效果；在考慮如何布置開煉機的空間分布時，我采用了縱向高度加大，并將發動機安在箱體上，而并非將開煉機的減速器與開煉機的發動機安在橫向，個人覺得縱向的開煉機可以減少空間，在等面積的廠房中增加了可放開煉機的總數量，更能發揮其優勢。
本次設計主要針對XK-160開煉機進行設計、計算和校核，其中包括驅動電機和傳動裝置以及輥距調整裝置等，此大小的開煉機一般用于實驗室研究使用，此次制圖采用機械CAD對開煉機的結構形式及空間分布進行繪制，并隨開煉機主要的零部件以及輔助部件進行設計，并學習掌握制圖軟件的應用等。
本次設計在結構上并不是采用分出式齒輪減速器（即在機器外通過聯軸節連接），而是使減速機構在機身內，此設計可明顯減少機器的占地面積，但對空間高度要求相對高一些。這樣設計使開煉機的結構更緊湊，對于安全問題，應設有相應的安全裝置；此次設計輥筒的冷卻方式采用冷卻水進行冷卻這樣會使費用大大降低，但耗水量較大，并應設置其冷卻水應循環使用。

Abstract
Open smelting machine is mainly used for: Rubber plastication; rubber mixing; mixing thermal refining, glue supply; rubber sheeting; removal of impurities in rubber; rubber crushing and washing; reclaimed rubber crushing, mixing. Pellet; raw rubber tablet.
In the design of roller, roller is extremely important, because the roller open smelting machine is one of the most important parts of, because the mill structure relationship to open smelting machine cooling method and cooling effect; in considering how to decorate open mill's spatial distribution, I used the longitudinal height increase, and the engine is arranged on the box body, and not to open mill's reducer and open smelting machine engine safety in the transverse direction, personally feel that the vertical milling machine can reduce the space, in the area of the plant increased the total number of mixer can be released and, can give full play to its advantages.
This design is mainly for xk-160 open smelting machine design, calculation and verification,including driving motor and a transmission device and a roller spacing adjustment device, the size of open smelting machine for use in research laboratories, the drawing with CAD for mixer for the structure and spatial distribution of drawing, and with open smelting machine main parts and accessories design and learn to master drawing software application.
The design on the structure and not the separate type gear reducer (i.e. outside the machine by coupling), but the reduction mechanism in the body, this design can significantly reduce the machine covers an area of, but the space height requirement is relatively high. This design makes the open smelting machine more compact structure, for security issues should be provided with appropriate safety devices; cooling method for the design of roller using cooling water cooling that would greatly reduce the cost, but the consumption of a large amount of water, and should set its cooling water should be recycled.
